Does Genesis Really Matter?
Does the creation versus evolution debate matter today? Perhaps you have heard people say, “With all the problems in today’s world, we really shouldn’t bother arguing about how it all began. We need to be concerned about the future, not the past.” Read more...
Do Origins Matter?
An unprecedented confusion is now permeating the modern world. Everything has seemingly been turned upside down, and the older standards of right and wrong have been almost completely interchanged….the wide resurgence of paganism and occultism, the inexorable spread of the cancerous drug culture, giant crime syndicates in the capitalist nations, pan-Arabic aggression in the Islamic nations, and a worldwide breakdown of personal and governmental morality. It is no wonder that there is everywhere “upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity…” (Luke 21:25) Read more...
The Amazing Prophetic Claims of the Lord Jesus Christ
There are so many strong and clear evidences of the perfect and unique truth of Christianity that those who remain skeptical were said by the great Apostle Peter to be "willingly ignorant" (II Peter 3:5) and by the Apostle Paul to be "without excuse" (Romans 1:20). The great king David concluded that only "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 53:1), and wise king Solomon asserted that, "The fear of the LORD" is the very "beginning of knowledge" and "wisdom" (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10).
But what about prophecies in the Bible about future events? Can those be trusted?
Better Than the Angels
The angels of God are indeed wonderful and mighty beings, but they are only created being, not all-powerful and all-knowing like their Creator. A great host of them were present when God laid the earth's solid foundations (see Job 38:4,7), when Christ was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:13), and will be with Him when He comes to Earth again (II Thessalonians 1:7).
What or who could be greater than these creatures?
Biblical Catastrophism and Geology
Theories of catastrophism in geology are not new. Prior to the time of Sir Charles Lyell in the early nineteenth century, scientists generally believed that most geological formation had been produced by great physical catastrophes and mountain-generating revolutions. Lyell, however, taught that these phenomena could be explained by the ordinary processes of nature, acting over vast expanses of geologic time. This "principle of uniformitariansism," as he called it, with its creed, "the present is the key to the past," soon became widely accepted as the foundational principle of the modern discipline called historical geology.
So how can this priciple be reconciled with the biblical account of a six-day creation and a global flood?
Christ Our Life
In the normal course of events ... in spite of Christ's sustaining power, each of us will die eventually and go back to the dust. But that is not the end. The Creator of life is also the One--in fact the only One--who can be the Redeemer of life. The wonderful turth is that He "redeemeth thy life from destruction" (Psalm 103:4) if we simply trust Him to do so. Then, one glorious future day ... we shall "appear with Him in glory" (Colossians 3:4).
So, how can we have the assurance that the Lord Jesus Christ is our very life, from its creation to its eternal consummation in glory?
God's Plan for Your Life
Does God really have a purpose for each individual life? Is it possible to find God's plan for my life?
Everyone struggles with these questions at some point in their life, but their response to them carries eternal consequenses. It is always possible, of course, for any person to devise objections and further questions, no matter how strong and logical the evidence might be. God will not force anyone to believe and follow His will, so there will always be a way to escape it, if that is your desire. Nevertheless, it is clearly in your own best interest to search for satisfying answers to these vital questions, and then to believe and act upon them when they are given.
God's Way of Salvation (According to Scripture)
All religions of the world have some system of soteriology, that is, a way to obtain eternal life. Even so called “Christian” religions vary to some degree in their method for salvation. It is no wonder that many are confused about this most important matter in life. Such confusion has led many to accept the idea that it does not matter what one believes as long as one sincerely believes it. But is that true, or is there only one true way to obtain eternal life? And, if there is only one true way, what is that way?
How to Be Happy In Spite of Yourself
The "pursuit of happiness" enshrined in the Declaration of Independence seems elusive as ever today. If any of us are going to achieve genuine happiness, it certainly appears that it will have to be in spite of ourselves. Mankind is in such a pickle today that it is almost impossible to function in an environment where everything is "falling apart" and the world is on the verge of a global catastrophe of some kind or another.
Is genuine happiness obtainable in this life? Can anybody truly have it? Or are we all stuck with an existence that must resort the deluded "happy, happy, happy" state of the mentally ill in order to find joy?
Reason and the Christian Hope
Maybe you have been skeptical about the claims of Christianity. You have thought that the glorious hope of the Christian is just built on wishful thinking. But now, try to be fair, for the time being, and to shelve whatever objections you may have until you have carefully and fairly considered the positive evidence.
The Gifts of God
Giving began with God! Human gifts are imperfect, often wrongly motivated, frequently unappreciated, always defective and temporary. Gifts that are good gifts and perfect gifts come only from above, from the Father of lights.
The Scientific Case Against Evolution
Belief in evolution is a remarkable phenomenon. It is a belief passionately defended by the scientific establishment, despite the lack of any observable scientific evidence for macroevolution (that is, evolution from one distinct kind of organism into another). This odd situation is briefly documented here by citing recent statements from leading evolutionists admitting their lack of proof. These statements inadvertently show that evolution on any significant scale does not occur at present, and never happened in the past, and could never happen at all.
The Creator Of Marriage
The Lord Jesus has settled forever (for those who believe His words) the question of human origins and the historicity of the Genesis account of creation. Read more ...
Made in His Image: Human Reproduction
A new life is started the moment a human sperm cell unites with a human egg. Sounds simple, doesn't it? A person can decide for himself, but he will need to follow along very closely to catch all of the details and carefully piece them together, just as he would follow a skillful mystery. Read more ...
Made in His Image: Human Gestation
Admittedly the prospect of pregnancy only applies to half of humanity, but the other half should find the process equally astounding. The real star of the show, however, is the developing baby, who was once viewed as a passive object being built by the mother's body. Nothing could be further from the truth. In terms of guiding implantation into the uterus all the way to breastfeeding, it is the baby/placenta unit that is the dynamic force in the orchestration of its own destiny. Read more ...
Made in His Image: Baby's First Breath
Childbirth is so common it is easy to overlook the fact that a baby thrives in a total water world for nine months--a world that is utterly impossible for any person to live in immediately after their very first breath. That feat is accomplished by the baby possessing--only in the womb--blood vessels with a different arrangement and structure than an adult's. Read more ...
New Life Origins Theory Has Old Problems
Evolutionists have yet to figure out how life could have spontaneously developed from non-living chemicals. Richard Dawkins told New Scientist in 2009 that "the most profound unsolved problem in biology is the origin of life itself." Read more ...
Did the "God Particle" Create Matter?
Today many scientists reject Scripture as a legitimate source of truth and attempt to find entirely “natural” explanations for the origin of the universe. They go so far as to say you can’t be a scientist if your explanations of our origins depend upon actions of a supernatural being. Biologists who are under the sway of evolutionary theory and physicists who believe in billions of years since the origin of the universe generally avoid references to a creator. When they or the media mention God, it’s often only as ridicule. For example, the use of the term “God particle” when referring to the search for the Higgs boson in elementary particle physics is a thinly-veiled attempt to mock the belief in a supernatural creator. Family Lines Are Like Relay Races
Our own lives are the convergence of many relay races, funneling biogenetically into the one unique life that each of us calls our own. What if our parents had “dropped” the baton, procreatively, when we needed them most—so that we would not have been born?
